Borders is definitely an amazing store, well... if you like books. But now this huge company selling billions of books worldwide is closing slowly. Why? government, economy, and ourselves. When people complain of why our economy is going bad, don't blame others, instead look at ourselves.
Many consumers are dependant of electronics to function, for instance ebooks(Kindles). Television commercials love to reciprocate the idea of ebooks having no glare when in direct contact with sunlight, downloading books in 10 seconds tops online, and being so lightweight, etc. It depends on the consumer. As interesting as that sounds, nothing beats walking into a bookstore meeting people who share the same concepts and interests as you, and maybe holding a non decaf frap. Also, you can search for books or flip through pages and find something new that interest you. Books are longer lasting and more durable to the confinements of the Earth. And, of course we have students in Elementary, Intermediate, College, and those in pursuit of a career who want to easily skim through books while highlighting references, and jotting notes they have aquired. I am stating my idea becasue of the love I have for reading these paper flipping books, not to unjustly justify the demise of ebooks.
*I would like to thank those employees working in Border who worked hard to find the books that were needed by constumers everywhere. Also, for sharing your knowlege and feedback from books that interest you.
